The new concept focuses on room sets and the ‘edit’ of objects. It does not follow trends but takes the best possible materials and products, edited down with Conran flair and creativity to reflect the very best of the way we live now under one roof. Much of the inspiration has come from Terence’s country home – Barton Court.

Whilst products across the range are high quality, made from the best materials and with provenance, entry level products will remain. Many ranges are exclusive such as a 10-piece furniture range made in Britain by Benchmark called ‘Wardour’ and an exquisite textile collection featuring the finest fabrics available. Room sets are to be changed each season to keep the look fresh and sharp and the customer constantly stimulated.

It will be a unique opportunity to dine within a bespoke garden and the ideal space to experience the hottest garden design away from the crowds at the Flower Show.

A competition to design the garden in Daphne’s was held in association with the English Gardening School. The design brief was to make guests feel as if they were dining in the middle of a flower garden, with the only restrictions to creativity being that all tables need to remain in situ and service must not be impeded.

The winning entry was submitted jointly by Manoj Malde and Amy Roberts. Manoj and Amy both began their careers in fashion before retraining in garden design.

The garden will be at Daphne’s from 22 May to 3 June. Throughout this period a special Chelsea Flower Show-inspired set menu will be available at £19.50 for two courses or £22.50 for three courses for lunch and before 7pm.

Number Sixteen is one of London’s very first boutique hotels and it forms part of a row of gleaming white stucco mid Victorian townhouses. It originally opened in the 1980’s and instantly became popular with discerning travellers looking for an alternative to the larger Park Lane hotels. Now several years on, Tim and Kit Kemp have given it a new lease of life and Kit has redesigned the hotel in her signature, fresh modern English style. The latest room to be redesigned is The Library-this beautiful room leads through to a charming conservatory and sunny tree-filled garden. The perfect place for stylish entertaining or peaceful relaxation!
